Amazing culture and fun in the heart of San Diego.
Balboa Park’s wicker cart Electriquettes ready to go!
There’s a whole fleet of very cool wicker cart Electriquettes ready to go in Balboa Park! They’ve been operating now for a few days!
You might recall reading about these historical Electriquettes last December on my main blog Cool San Diego Sights. My post then was titled Electric wicker carts returning to Balboa Park! Back then, one of the finished carts was being demonstrated in public, and I took the opportunity to review a bit of the unusual little vehicles’ history. Motorized wicker carts first appeared in Balboa Park in 1915, during the Panama-California Exposition.
Wouldn’t it be fun to ride one today?
I live in downtown San Diego and love to walk! You can enjoy even more Cool San Diego Sights by following me on Facebook or Twitter!
