During my walk through Balboa Park yesterday morning, I noticed some folks gardening around the Plaza de Panama fountain. Members of the San Diego County Dahlia Society were planting dahlias! Volunteers from the society have adopted this plot in Balboa Park. I can’t wait to see the flowers blooming!

Pots contain young dahlias, ready to be planted around the fountain. I was told by one society member that there are several varieties, that will grow to different sizes.
